Committee on Equality and Human Rights

A Committee on Equality and Human Rights has been established to monitor progress against the actions in our Race Equality Scheme Action Plan, and to support and advise the organisation as we develop our policies relating to disability and gender equality.

The committee will meet approximately six times a year, and its purpose is to:

  • ensure that the Commission maximises its contribution to reducing inequalities in people’s health and promoting equality of, and access to, experience and outcomes of healthcare
  • ensure that the Commission becomes a model employer in respect of equality in employment
  • ensure that the Commission meets its statutory duties and complies fully with all current  and future legislation on equality and human rights

The Committee members are:  Nick Partridge (Chair), Sharon Hopkins, Professor Iqbal Singh and Khurshid Alam.

Papers from the committee will be posted on this site after approval as appropriate.
