How do I apply for a role?
You need to register with our online system and then complete and submit your application through the system. When completing your application, please make sure you have ticked each separate section and that you have clicked 'Submit application' at the end of each section.
Shortly after you submit your application online, you'll receive an email confirmation that we have received it. Your application will be handled by our HR recruitment team who will consider it fairly, taking into consideration your skills and experience, and in accordance with our commitment to equal opportunities.
I've saved an incomplete application, can I finish it later?
Yes. Click on the 'Update my details' section in the online application section. Your username is the email address you provided when registering and your chosen password. Go to Online applications.
Do you accept speculative applications?
We do not accept speculative applications, as we require all candidates to complete our standard application form. However, if you would like to receive information about new jobs as they become available, you can register for our job alerts service. Alternatively, add our job vacancies page to your favourites list in your web browser. Register for alerts now.
Would you consider someone for a role if they require a work permit?
We are unable to employ anyone who does not have the right to work in the UK. We are also unable to apply for individual work permits for potential employees, unless there are no suitable candidates in the UK and European Economic Area (EEA). In these exceptional circumstances (for example, if the role is highly-specialised), we may be able to apply for a work permit on your behalf.
Further information is available from the Home Office website Working in the UK (opens new window)
Do you provide training and development to employees?
Yes, we provide our employees with the training and development they need to excel in their roles and to gain further skills to enable them to reach their full career potential.
I don't have an email account - where can I get one?
A number of internet service providers offer free email accounts, including Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo and Lycos. You need to go to their websites to set up an account.
How do you use personal information?
The personal information that you provide in your application is used solely for the purposes of recruitment and is not used for any marketing or passed on to any third-parties. You can find out more in Information handling.
What is involved in the recruitment process?
Our recruitment process varies according to the position you're applying for, and may include interviews, presentations, assessment centres and testing.
How long will it take to process my application?
Your application is normally looked at within five working days of the posted closing date. The recruitment team and hiring manager review all applications and draw up a shortlist of candidates. If you have been short-listed we will contact you with details of the next stage of the process. When our HR advisor contacts you, please let them know if you need further assistance or have any special needs or requirements.
Can I get feedback on my application?
Because we receive a high volume of applications, we are not able to offer feedback at the initial stage. When you submit your application you will receive an email from us telling you that if you do not hear from us within four weeks from the date of your application, you have not been short-listed.
Why can't I have the interview or assessment date I want?
We make every effort to accommodate requests for alternative interview or assessment dates. However, it is not always possible to work around every request. Because a number of factors determine interview or assessment dates, including the availability of Healthcare Commission staff, alternative dates cannot always be arranged.
Will I receive feedback from my interview?
Following your interview, you will be contacted and informed of why you were or were not successful at the interview stage. We try to make this process as quick as possible. However, there could be some time between the interview and when you hear from us, depending on when a decision is made, if the start date is being negotiated or the details of the contract are being finalised.
What happens once I have a job offer?
Once you have been offered the role, we will need to obtain acceptable references and medical information before you can join us. Our section on Referencing and medicals, in Guidance notes, provides further details. An offer of employment may be withdrawn if the results do not meet the requirements of the Healthcare Commission.
Your start date may also vary depending on the availability of any training you require or your notice period at your current employment. Further information is available in Guidance notes.
Will you keep my details on file?
If you're not successful with your application, you will automatically be considered for any future vacancy which may suit your skills and experience, as long as you have registered your details on our website and have given your permission. You can continue to review and apply for any new roles online using the login and password created during your initial registration.
Is there an induction process?
Whichever area of the business you join, you'll attend a comprehensive induction incorporating a one-day ‘welcome' event and our new online learning processes. More information on this will be given during the recruitment process.
What benefits do I get?
