Vacancies for analysts
We currently have a range of opportunities for analysts to work on projects relating to key areas of the Commission’s work.
These range from supporting our investigations, our annual health check of the NHS, and our reviews of the quality of specific types of NHS services, through to our work regulating the independent healthcare sector.
We need people with a solid background in analysing and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data. Ideally you’ll have an understanding of local and national healthcare policy, and how our information relates to it. Impressive analytical skills are a must, along with the excellent communication skills needed to liaise effectively with our other business areas and external groups.
You’ll have plenty of opportunities to work closely with the wider organisation and be encouraged to use your initiative. The job will be very much what you make it, but this doesn’t means you’ll be left to sink or swim: you’ll have a mentor to guide you. With the emphasis we place on teamwork, everyone pulls together to complete each project.
About you
You’re used to looking at information, but there’s more to you than just an analytical mind – you have a creative side too. You want to interpret data and develop communication skills to present your findings and persuade people. You’re not afraid to voice your opinions and you’ve plenty of ideas to throw into the mix.
Here are some quotes from some of our analysts:
"I never know what the next item of intelligence will be. One day I’m looking at information on MRSA, the next it’s the quality of food at an NHS trust or substance misuse programmes."
"My team contributes to a very important national publication, the annual health check of the NHS. I feel proud to be part of that process."
"Analysis is fed back to regional staff, which has improved my presentational skills no end."
"At the end of Friday, you’ll normally find us burning off the week on the football pitch at the local sports centre."
