Race equality
Our latest Race equality scheme identifies our priorities until April 2009 and explains how we will continue to focus on embedding the promotion of race equality in all our work.
The revised scheme and action plan strengthens the work we have done on promoting race equality since we published our first race equality scheme in January 2006.
Committee on equality and human rights
We established a Committee on equality and human rights to monitor progress against the actions in our Race equality scheme action plan, and to support and advise the organisation as we develop our policies relating to disability and gender equality.
The aims of the committee are to make sure that:
- The Healthcare Commission reduces inequalities in health by encouraging equality of access, experience and outcomes.
- We lead by example and become a model employer in equality.
- We meet our legal duties and comply with all laws on equality, diversity and human rights.
Online register of race equality impact assessments
This online register shows the race equality impact assessments of our activities that we have completed, or that are currently in progress. Find out more about the online register in Equality impact assessments.
