We nevertheless work closely with HIW and related organisations, including the Social Services Inspectorate Wales and the Care Standards Inspectorate Wales.

Our activities relating to Wales

• Our annual report to Parliament on the state of healthcare, which covers both England and Wales.
• Reviews of particular types of healthcare services that include Wales.
• Reviewing the quality of researchers' data about NHS healthcare in Wales.
• Producing any of our reports that cover Wales in English and Welsh, in line with our Welsh language scheme.

Concordat for Wales

The Healthcare Commission is a signatory to a concordat between 10 organisations that are involved in regulating health and social care in Wales.

The concordat contains principles and practices designed to help to improve health and social care for patients and to reduce the impact of regulatory process on the organisations that provide the services.
