Reports on healthcare

When we gather and analyse information about the quality of healthcare in England, we publish our findings on this website as downloadable PDF reports or searchable data. You can also request a printed copy of many of our reports.

The topics of our reports include:

  • What we find when assessing the quality of different types of healthcare services, including for heart failure, diabetes, maternity, mental health problems and people with learning difficulties.
  • How well hospitals carry out different aspects of diagnosis and treatment, including managing medicines, admissions, imaging, endoscopy and pathology services.
  • The results of our investigations into serious failures by healthcare services.
  • Key findings from our annual national surveys of NHS patients and staff.
  • The annual assessment of how well the NHS is performing in the areas that matter to patients and the public.
  • Patients' complaints to their local NHS trusts, including our work reviewing unresolved complaints; and patients' most common concerns and how well the NHS handles such complaints.
  • Our yearly report to Parliament about the state of healthcare in England and Wales.
