Please note that the draft criteria - links below - are subject to approval by the Secretary of State for Health and we are currently discussing these proposals with the Department of Health. All trusts should use the final documents when determining whether they have reasonable assurance of their compliance against core standards, and subsequently when completing trust declarations of compliance as part of the annual health check 2008/09. This draft criteria document is intended to assist in preparation. We will publish the final criteria documents as soon as possible.

Response to patient and public engagement activity
As part of our consultation a series of engagement events were held in February and March 2008 to give patient and public groups the opportunity to comment on our proposals. This is a feedback report setting out the key points made to us by attendees, and our final plans in those particular areas. The feedback we received from all patients and members of the public has been invaluable as we finalised the overall design of the annual health check in 2008/2009.
