Acute hospital portfolio reviews of findings

The acute hospital portfolio (AHP) is a collection of reviews that are undertaken at acute and specialist trusts. They focus on key service areas or resources within the trust that are of concern to trust managers and patients.

The external auditor provides a tailored performance assessment to each trust that sets out its performance based on the comparative data collected and takes account of local circumstances. The assessments also include action plans for improvement where needed or recommend further audit work at a minority of trusts - those that demonstrably need it.
