Making sense of your survey of staff data
Details of the ‘key scores’ (defined as the 28 scores derived from the survey identified as covering the issues that are most important to trusts) presented in the feedback and summary reports are available at the link below. There is also information about differences in results from previous years, the confidence intervals, and the procedures used to ‘weight’ results. Further information on the detailed spreadsheets is also provided here, as well as details of how the survey if staff results feed into: Improving Working Lives assessments; the Health and Safety Executive audit requirements; and the core standards within the Healthcare Commission’s new annual health check system for 2005/2006.

Detailed spreadsheets
The aggregated responses to all individual survey questions can be accessed here. The spreadsheets display results for every trust and participating strategic health authority in England, as well as national averages for different trust types. A set of spreadsheets containing results for the optional questions will be published here.
Please note the results provided here may vary from those given in the feedback and summary reports, as the data here is ‘unweighted’ (see Making use of your staff survey data above for further information). The spreadsheets do not allow for accurate comparisons to be made across different types of NHS organisation as the weighting has not been applied to the actual figures.
