Promoting improvement through peer learning event
Date: 9 September 2008
This event is for trusts to share ‘what went wrong’ or ‘what went right’ with their local peers in a safe learning space, facilitated by the Commission.
Using available information, data and experience available in trusts and the Commission, this seminar seeks to provide an interactive opportunity for senior NHS trust staff to learn from past experiences, positive and negative, and take the learning back to their trust to promote improvement.
The event will:
- share ‘what went wrong and why’ in the poorest performers to help other trusts understand how to avoid problems
- celebrate the good performance and success of the best trusts
- share information and data which trusts can use to improve – allowing them to ‘mine’ our data to empower their performance
- provide a platform for the sharing of best practice and the presentation of case studies
The audience will comprise trust chief executives, directors of performance and senior staff and non-executives.
The chief executive and director of infection control at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust have agreed to present their learning following the C Difficle outbreaks, and share with others how the trust is moving forward. We are approaching others who have faced hygiene difficulties and significant change programmes and those who perform consistently highly.
We are still shaping the programme but invitations will be circulated shortly. To register your interest in either attending or presenting at this free event on Tuesday 9 September, please email Sophie Ure Martin on sophie.uremartin@healthcarecommission.org.uk or call 020 7448 4543.
